Compared with the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics, the Beijing Winter Olympics has added 7 events to bring the total to 109.

Despite the addition of the events, the total number of athletes in the Beijing Winter Olympics will be below 2,900, and smaller compared with the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
