    2015: Dojo

    In 2015, the Beijing International Sports Film Week entered a new ten-year development cycle. The event continued to uphold the principle of "carry on the Olympic spirit, build a better city", focusing on and cooperating with Beijing's bid for the Winter Olympics, expanding the content of activities, and innovating operating models.

    The 11th BISFW set up a special student section to solicit students’ works from universities. More than 10 works by students from Peking University, Beijing Sport University, Shanghai University of Sport and other colleges and universities were received; and the film Dojo is an excellent work by foreign students.

    Dojo is a place where violence has its own set of rules, and Yu is a prisoner of Dojo. The prisoners defend their masters to death to win their freedom. When Yu wins the battle for his master, he wins freedom but continues to stay on to challenge his master.

     

    2016: The Match

    Chinese badminton player Bao Chunlai's film debut The Match was the opening film of the event this year. As far as the Chinese mainland’s film market and film history are concerned, The Match was an epoch-making work. It was the first film in the Chinese mainland with badminton as the theme and the participation of all Olympic badminton champions of China.

    The film tells the story of a group of young people from different backgrounds and environments, who after suffering various setbacks in life, unite, excel and fight for honor.

    2017: My Other Home

    This year, the Beijing International Sports Film Week set up a media award and established a jury made up of more than 30 media representatives. Among the finalists participating in the Sport Movies & TV - Milano International FICTS Fest (Beijing Leg), the sports film and television works that the media paid the most attention to were selected. The film My Other Home won the title "the Feature Film Most Appreciated by Media ".

    The film tells the story of former NBA basketball superstar Stephon Marbury who encounters an agent from China. With the encouragement of his mother, friends and the agent Li Nan, Marbury reignites his basketball dream and determines to travel across the ocean to China to reestablish his honor.

    2018: The Everlasting Flame

    Coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 14th Beijing International Sports Film Week showcased 6 Olympic films. As the opening film of the event, The Everlasting Flame was the first official Olympic movie filmed by the host country since the 1980s. It was also the first official Olympic film made by Chinese and an important part of the cultural legacy of the Beijing Olympics. .

    The filming, from the collection of the Olympic flame in Athens in March 2008 to the closing of the Games at the end of August 2008, lasted six months in total. The living conditions of global athletes and their preparations for the Beijing Olympics were also simultaneously filmed, breaking the tradition in previous Olympic official films of recording sport only, and enriching the content from sports events and behind-the-scenes services.

    2019: Woman Basketball Player No.5

    To mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the 15th Beijing International Sports Film Week added sections such as "Representation of Classics - A Review of Classic Sports Films during the Past Seventy Years".

    The opening film Woman Basketball Player No.5 was the first sports-themed color feature film shot after the founding of New China, and also the first work written and directed by national first-level director Xie Jin. Centering on the life experience of basketball player Tian Zhenhua, and the different circumstances of Lin Jie and Lin Xiaojie, a mother and her daughter, the film reveals the different fates of the players before and after liberation.
