Hosted by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association and organized by the Beijing Olympic City Development Centre and AiQi Exhibition Group Limited, the 2022 Olympic City Development Forum was officially held in Beijing Shougang Park on the afternoon of September 1. It is an important part of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services.

In his address, Juan Antonio Samaranch said that Beijing, as the first dual Olympic city, has set an example for the world in the sustainable use of the Olympic legacies. As an international platform for exchange and cooperation among Olympic cities, the Olympic City Development Forum has enhanced friendship and mutual trust among global Olympic cities, strengthened sports and cultural exchanges and cooperation, pooled experience and creativity in the inheritance and utilization of Olympic heritage, and promoted the development of the ice and snow industry and the popularization of ice and snow sports. He looks forward to the continuation of the Olympic City Development Forum as an Olympic legacy, playing an important role in the continued promotion of the integration and development of Olympic cities around the world, and establishing itself as a branded event for the exchange and mutual appreciation of world-class Olympic legacies.

Liu Jingmin said in his speech that the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games had come to a successful conclusion, offering the world a simple, safe, wonderful and unparalleled Winter Olympic event and fulfilling a solemn promise to the international community. The Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games are vivid demonstrations of the concept of green, shared, open and clean running of the Games, and a successful portrayal of implementing the new development concept, building a new development pattern and promoting high-quality development. The rich legacies of the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games are valuable assets. In his speech, he also gave an insightful summary of the Olympic legacies left by the hosting of the two Olympic Games, which is to define the direction of sustainable, green and people-centered urban development in Beijing. At the same time, he said that the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, as a heritage organization of the dual Olympic Games, will firmly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's instructions and fully implement the deployment of the Beijing Municipal Government. He said the Beijing Olympic City Development Association will implement the people-centered development ideology, inherit and make good use of the dual Olympic legacies, so that the public can share the fruits of the Olympic Games.

In his speech, Fu Xiaohui pointed out that innovation is the driving force of the times and sustainability is the key to perpetual development. The Beijing Olympic City Development Association was conceived and developed through innovation. Since its inception, the Beijing Olympic City Development Association has been committed to innovation, exploring ways to effectively pass on the Olympic legacies and working towards its sustainable development. The Beijing Olympic City Development Association will be the main venue for spreading the Olympic spirit and passing on the Olympic legacies, a unique window to help build Beijing's international communication center, and a high-end think tank for the preparation of major international sports events. The Beijing Olympic City Development Association will be working on four fronts: integrity and innovation, adherence to its mandate, extensive cooperation and service to the city. The next step will be to work together with all sectors of society to do a good job in the post-Winter Olympics period and to pass on and make good use of the dual Olympic legacies. The Olympic Committee will continue to write the glory of the dual Olympic City.

After the forum, representatives from Chaoyang District and Yanqing District in Beijing, Jilin City and Shougang Park jointly held a roundtable dialogue on sustainable regional development in the post-Olympic period. The roundtable dialogue was moderated by Zhang Li.
