1. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: 2023 Beijing Shichahai Ice Carnival

The event features traditional Beijing folk ice sports activities including spinning top, golf-like Chuiwan, bowling-like Mushe, and soccer-like Cuqiu on ice. Around 600 people participated in the sports activities. Highlights include: 1. The event presented Bingxi, a traditional ice play integrating entertainment distinctive to northern Chinese and military training. Skaters, dressed in the red, yellow, blue and white costumes for noble families of the Qing Dynasty, performed archery on ice, skipped or skated among decorated archways to the music of royal drums and against the backdrop of fluttering royal dragon flags, presenting a visual feast of the splendid traditional sport activity. The audience broke into rapturous applause as the skaters made every of beautiful and superb movements. It seemed that they were brought back to a magnificent Bingxi show in the Qing Dynasty. 2. The organiser has invited more than 100 people from special groups and their families to join ice sport activities and have fun.
2. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: 2023 Beijing Yanqing Mass Ski Competitions

More than 120 amateur skiers gathered in the Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort, celebrating the first anniversary of the successful holding of the Beijing 2022 Games with ski competitions. The skiers, in bright-coloured ski suits, galloped on the snow, staged an episode of “Fast & Furious,” and crossed the finishing line in waves of cheers. In the competitions, four groups of men and women skiers contested, respectively, in alpine skiing giant slalom and snowboard giant slalom. After fierce competitions, Zhang Mingshuo, Wu Ma’er, Zhang Yixuan and Li Zhan claimed the championship of each group. Highlight: the competitions were hosted in Yanqing, one of the three competition zones of the Beijing 2022 Games, as a move to act upon the call of fully making use of the Olympic legacy.
3. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: Happy Beijing Ice and Snow Carnival

Individual families are made a participating unit in this event. Around 300 people from 90 families across Beijing took part in six snow games, which are rolling race, snow tubing, group race on a toy caterpillar, tug of war on snow, snow flying disc race and snow football. Parents and children exhibited good teamwork and created an electric gaming mood. Highlight: the event was held for families with primary and secondary school students on winter vacation. Educational contents on the traditions of Spring Festival and an exhibition on Olympic Winter Games were integrated in the event. While having fun by playing the games, participating families were offered an opportunity to learn about traditions of the Spring Festival and revisit the splendid Beijing 2022 Games. The event helped improve children’s sports skills, and fostered parent-child bond and family harmony and satisfied children’s diversified sports demands. Families finishing all games were presented a certificate.
4. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: 2023 Beijing Youth Ice Hockey Challenge

The competition was held in the ice hockey arena of the National Indoor Stadium, Ice Star Ice Sports Centre and TUS Ice & Snow Park. Around 500 players from 20 teams of the U10 and U12 age groups contested in 50 competitions over six competition days. Highlight: the ice hockey arena of the National Indoor Stadium has become a multi-functional and diversified venue for ice sport. While opening to the general public, it is the permanent training venue for Beijing men’s ice hockey team. One year after the successful holding of the Beijing 2022 Games, the venue took on a new look.
5. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: Healthy Run

Around 400 people participated in the event. The competition route is a track inside the Lianshi Lake region of the Beijing Olympic Winter Park in Shijingshan District. The square in the west of the Lianhua Zhushui spot of the Lianshi Lake was the starting and finishing point. The route then passed landmarks along the torch relay route for the Beijing 2022 Games, including the New Shougang Bridge, Big Air Shougang and Beijing 2022 sites. The length for one lap is around 5km. Highlights: 1. The 5km run led participants to encounter Beijing 2022 memories, find Beijing 2008 and Beijing 2022 legacies, experience ice and snow culture and carry forward the spirit of Olympic Winter Games. 2. The competition time was extended from three hours to three and a half hours so that more participants could finish the competition safely. 3. Broom wagon services were offered to runners who could ride on the buses if they found themselves uncomfortable or unable to finish the race. 4. No awards or awarding ceremony were presented. The event was held to advocate running for health and fun. It was for enjoying the running sport rather than competing with rivals.
6. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: Healthy Cycling

Themed “continuing the splendour of the Beijing 2022 Games by fun cycling,” the event features Olympic Winter Games themed cycling, steeplechase cycling and parent-child cycling relay race. The Olympic Winter Games themed cycling is a bike tour rounding the Beijing 2022 headquarters, venues for winter sports training, competition venues and Big Air Shougang, among other landmarks of the Beijing 2022 Games. The steeplechase cycling race offered cyclists an opportunity to exhibit their cycling skills and share their experience and fun in the sport with other enthusiasts. The parent-child cycling race added a touch of childish fun to the event. Highlights: 1. The event made full use of the Beijing 2022 venues to better serve the need of general public for sports and the need of urban development. 2. It combines Olympic culture with fine traditional Chinese culture, promoting low-carbon traveling and exhibiting the charm of Beijing as a city hosting both the Summer and Winter Games.
7. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: First Beijing Ski Open

Skiers competed in alpine skiing giant slalom and snowboard giant slalom events in youth group and adult group. By age, the two groups were further subdivided into 16 smaller competing groups. Highlight: it is currently the largest public skiing competition in Beijing.
8. First Anniversary Celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games: Mass Curling Competition

The event featured a public curling competition and a themed exhibition on the memories of the Beijing 2022 Games. In the public curling competition, two men and two women forming a four-person team contested in mixed curling with no substitute brought in. The themed exhibition featured a docent to explain stories about each exhibit. Highlights: 1. The event was held in the Ice Cube, the venue for the curling competitions during the Beijing 2022 Games. It is a move to fully make use of the Beijing 2022 legacy. 2. The themed exhibition carries forward the Winter Olympic spirit and history.
