On the afternoon of September 22, Pubu Dunzhu, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Secretary of the Lhasa Municipal Party Committee, led a delegation of prefecture-level officials to the touring exhibition entitled “Carrying Forward the Spirit of Beijing 2022 and Promoting the Development of Border Areas,” at Pavilion 1 of the Tibet Convention and Exhibition Center. He stressed the need to thoroughly implement the guiding principles laid down in the report to the 20^th National Congress of the CPC and the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the Olympic legacy work, carry forward the spirit of the Beijing 2022 Games while advancing the themed education campaign, and draw strength from the endeavor to urge Lhasa to become “the vanguard on seven fronts” by focusing on “four aspects” and “four creations.”

Through the mix of pictures, texts, videos and physical objects, the themed touring exhibition fully displayed the process from bidding, preparing for and hosting of the Games, highlights and brilliant achievements of the Games. It tells the moving story of the Games, and systematically demonstrates the Beijing 2022 spirit of “of bearing in mind the big picture, being confident and open, rising to the challenges, pursuing excellence, and creating a better future together.” Pubu Dunzhu and his entourage listened to the  young expositors carefully, and stopped from time to time to make detailed inquiries.

During the visit, Pubu Dunzhu pointed out that the success of the Beijing 2022 Games lied in the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core. This explained once again the superiority of the socialist system of adhering to the centralized and unified leadership of the Party and to pooling all resources to accomplish major tasks. The spirit of Beijing 2022 is the precious spiritual asset of the Chinese nation, manifesting the style, spirit, quality and character China.

We must have a profound understanding of the decisive significance of the “two affirmations,”

further strengthen the “four consciousnesses,” bolster “four-sphere confidence,” stick to the “two upholds” and strive to write a new chapter in the modernization of Lhasa with Chinese characteristics.

We must vigorously carry forward the spirit of the Beijing 2022 Games,

invigorate the fighting spirit, face up to difficulties, work hard, and further gather the powerful joint forces for building a socialist, modern Lhasa in all respects.

While advancing the ongoing themed education campaign,

we must further the “Strong Solidarity” campaign, organize cadres, workers, people of all ethnic groups, and young students to participate in exhibitions and training sessions on patriotism, and build a platform for multi-ethnic exchanges and integration, to further fortify the sense of the Chinese nation as one community.

We shall seize the opportunity presented by this themed touring exhibition,

further stimulate the people’s enthusiasm for participate in sports, make great efforts to develop winter sports, and promote the high-quality development of sports in Lhasa. 

Pubu Dunzhu stressed with the 19^th Asian Games due to open in Hangzhou tomorrow, we must stay on alert, serve the Asian Games as we served the Beijing 2022 Games, and create a harmonious and stable social environment for the success of the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games.
