To better serve tourists during the summer vocation and the National Day holiday and synergise the Beijing Olympic Museum and the Dual Olympic Square, skateboarding, street dance and Teqball professionals and enthusiasts have been invited to the Dual Olympic Square to present performances every Saturday afternoon since the event opened on 8 August, especially during the Paris 2024 Olympics. These activities, together with the ongoing “Olympic Journey Through Time – Exhibition on Olympic Summer Games”, aim to promote the Olympic Movement, disseminate Olympic knowledge and popularise international emerging sports among the public. At the same time, the Beijing Olympic Museum on the east side of the Dual Olympic Square has worked to better meet the needs of visitors by extending the closing time from 17:00 to 20:00 every Saturday afternoon and cancelling the tradition of closing on Mondays and remaining open to the public during the entire National Day holiday (1 to 7 October). Practice has shown that the Dual Olympic Square enriches and expands the display space and content of the Beijing Olympic Museum, and the museum provides visitors with a deeper and more comprehensive experience, demonstrating the synergy of the two. It is learned that the Beijing Olympic Museum receives some 10,000 visitors every day during the National Day holiday.

According to the host, the Beijing Olympic Museum will continue to play an important role in demonstrating the unique charm of Beijing as the first and the only city that has hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympics. The museum will host a series of exhibitions, as well as educational, research and cultural activities, to showcase and promote the spirit of the Beijing 2008 and Beijing 2022 Games and provide unique cultural goods centred on the Olympic spirit for the public. The museum will pool resources of the dual Olympic culture, especially resources in Beijing Olympic Park Central Area, adopt new operations and management mechanisms, explore new forms, new formats and new products, and boost sports culture and tourism in an endeavour to promote the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It will also advance cooperation with the IOC, the Olympic Museums Network and other international organisations and strengthen exchanges with other museums to jointly carry forward the Olympic spirit.
